Qutub Minar – A tall tower made of sandstone
The Qutub Minar is known as the site of the first Muslim empire in North India and is a great example of Muslim architecture of that era which was built from sandstone. Many verses taken from the Quran are also engraved in this tower, which are mainly in Arabic language. This tower was named Qutub Minar after the name of Qutubuddin Aibak, the first Muslim ruler of India. Qutub Minar is located in Delhi.
Red Fort – Attractive detail
When Mughal ruler Shah Jahan shifted his capital from Agra to Delhi, he got the Red Fort constructed, which took about 10 years to be built. The Red Fort was built between 1638 and 1648 and at that time it was named Qila-e-Mubarak. The importance of this fort made of red stone even today can be gauged from the fact that every year on 15 August, on the occasion of Independence Day, the Prime Minister addresses the country from the ramparts of the Red Fort.

The city of Fatehpur Sikri is located 40 kilometers from Agra. During the reign of Mughal ruler Akbar, the royal city Fatehpur Sikri was the capital of the Mughals. There was a time when there were many palaces, separate buildings for common people, mosques, separate palaces for the king, separate buildings for the army and bureaucrats. Khajuraho Temple – World Heritage Site

Victoria Memorial, Kolkata
The Victoria Memorial in Kolkata was built during the British rule in India. The then Viceroy Lord Curzon gave the idea of this monument but its actual design was done by Sir William Emerson. There is a museum inside it which reminds of the British rule, which includes weapons, paintings, artifacts, statues and the royal portrait of Queen Victoria.
